Summary of Fifth meeting

Before the championship game they sat down and prayed. They were scared of the Carter Cowboys and that they were bigger faster and better than they were. They ended up coming so close to winning it all. Couple of inches and they would have been the state champions. They tried their best, but there was nothing they could do now.

Summary of fourth meeting

There was a three way tie to see who would make the post season. Only 1 team could go. The Panthers won the coin toss, and made it to the playoffs. After that, they defeated every team that they played against to make it to the championship.

Summary of third meeting

With Boobie out for the rest of the season, it was time to change things up. They practiced as hard as they could, and made all neccasary adjustments. They had to start winning games if they wanted to go on to the playoffs. They were happy with all of the progress that they made. It was now time, to have a fresh start, have no regreats, and play the game they all loved.

Similarities and Contrast between both movies

Our book from the junction Boy is the total opposite. First of all it was different time periods and the team in Friday Night Lights was a high school team and the Junction Boys are a college team.
Friday Night Lights was focused more on this little team in Texas and that it was a huge deal to the town and how just a little team ends up to be one great team that made it so far in the season and know one thought it that this team would be this good because since Boobie Miles was out for the entire season because of an injury. The team final was getting to the end and playing harder and harder teams and carter cowboys the hardest team around and the first half of the game they had a real hard time but then they figured out how they play and they only ended up losing by inches.
The Junction Boys was about a coach who took a losing Texas A&M football team to a small town called Junction where he pushed them to 2 a day practice in scorching Texas heat without any water breaks to see what players were meant to be on the team. They started out with 130 players and at the end of Junction there was only about 20 some boys left. Bear Bryant turned the team from a losing one into a winning one. They won their first game of the season then dropped 11 straight. The next season though, they went undefeated. 25 years later they all met again at Junction where all the boys that survived it celebrated with Bear Bryant and gave him a ring to show them support of what he did.
There are not many similarities about these two movies.

Summary of second meeting

Jerrod McDougal took Boobies positon thinking it was only temperary. This did not make Boobie happy.
He tried to come back after his injury, and only made it worse. He than packed up his locker, and had to accept that he was done. At first Jerrod didn't make the best impresion, he could't achieve the same things that Boobie could. Many people, players and even the caoches were surprised when he got his first big run of the season to score a touch down. After that, people started to get hope again. They were on their way to the winning season they all wanted so bad.

Summary of first meeting

These chapters talked about Boobies first injury and how he was going to be after that. The school, the community and all students in odessa loved Boobie Miles. He was their hero. Football was a very important sport to this town, championship vistorys went way back. When they lost Boobie, they didn't know how the season was going to be. The first game was horrible without him, many people started to believe that without Boobie, the seasdon was over.

Differences and Similarties Between Book and Movie

The movie followed the book really well. Some similarities between the book and the movies is when Boobie Miles hurts his knee. . Also similar was when Boobie went to the hospital in Midland Lee to find out when he could play football again. The doctor really felt that he shouldn't play the rest of the season but Boobie got defensive and started saying that the doctor didn't want him to play just because he was from Midland. He came back 3 weeks later in the game against Midland Lee and hurt it again it ended up ending his High School football career. Really the only difference i could see between the book and the movie was the book said that Odessa Permian Panthers lost in the semifinals of the state tournament to the Carter Cowboys where in the movie it has them losing to the Cowboys in the state championship game. We liked the way the book and the movie went along with each other.
